Dat is zoals een gewone bib. Alleen ontleen je er geen boeken maar mensen! Mensen die in hun leven vaak te maken krijgen met vooroordelen. Zij vertellen jou graag in het Nederlands of Frans hun krachtig en inspirerend verhaal, één-op-één, gedurende een halfuurtje, en jij kan vragen stellen.
Ontmoet Kristin, die zich tot vrouwen aangetrokken voelt, en Jin, een transvrouw die haar verhaal komt vertellen. De regels zijn simpel: respecteer het boek, wees nieuwsgierig, en breng het boek op tijd terug, in dezelfde staat!

The Pride week will begin with a militant march.
RainbowHouse invites you to join us on Wednesday, May 7 at 6 PM in front of the Ihsane Jarfi mural, Rue des Riches Claires in Brussels, for a moment of commemoration and militant memory. The event will feature artistic performances and speeches from our various partners.
We will continue our journey through various important places for the LGBTQIA+ community and end at Grands Carmes for the launch of the MACS plan.

Analphabet
With haunting prose, a ghost cures toxic relationships and illuminates gay cruising spots. A plea for a society that embraces the irrational.
After two lovers argue loudly on a beach at sunset, a ghost named Analphabet appears over the sea to tell his story and sing songs to the couple. Alberto Cortés, a revelation in the art landscape, calls himself a marica andaluza ('Andalusian faggot'), highlighting the off-centre perspective that has allowed him to develop a singular language. Invited to open the festival, he presents Analphabet, the story of a ghost who roams cruising spots, the outdoor spaces for sexual encounters between men. With haunting prose, Cortés crafts a character born to heal toxic relationships, partially reflecting his experience of being called 'irrational', a label he defiantly reclaims with this piece. Inspired by José Bergamín’s La decadencia del analfabetismo, Cortés criticises a society that sacrifices poetry for rational order, where everything must be organised, legible, and fixed, like the alphabet. On stage, accompanied by violinist Luz Prado, Cortés is magnetic; his body vibrates as if words flow through him like blood, like lines in a poem, like men in the woods at night. Cruising and poetry: Analphabet clings to a world perpetually threatened by too much daylight. Perhaps there are no words, or enough letters, for a night beyond description and that promises to be an unforgettable experience.

The exhibition embraces an uninhibited eroticism. In light of evolving mindsets, intimacy in art remains a political sticking point. Marc Martin unveils slices of life that go beyond—without excluding—heteronormative representations. By examining the way we view the body and sexuality, he questions an era that is, paradoxically, saturated with obscenity.

With the exhibition “MAUVAISES VIES?” opening Brussels’ Pride Week, artist Marc Martin sends a clear message: All lives are of equal worth. Within the LGBTQI+ community, we must protect the most vulnerable among us. LaVallée, a cultural and welcoming venue, offers the perfect setting.
The scenography is built around the idea of protection and revolves around “Safe Places”. Confronted with resistance and obstacles, the audience is invited to deepen its understanding of the fight for emancipation and against stigma.
The exhibition embraces uninhibited eroticism. Despite shifting mentalities, intimacy in art remains a political fault line. Marc Martin reveals slices of life that transcend heteronormative representations—without excluding them. By observing how we look at bodies and sexuality, he questions an era that is, at the same time, saturated with obscenity: What can be shown? What must remain hidden?
Composed of new works and photographs/installations from Marc Martin’s recent projects, “MAUVAISES VIES?” at LaVallée–Brussels aims to be inclusive and unifying. An exhibition with no tolerance for narrow-mindedness, prudishness, or isolationism.
Am I “normal,” “abnormal”? That question is no longer relevant.

"Rainbow Family” Spectacle de théâtre improvisé
It's a committed improv show, in the tradition of "Pride", which was part of last year's program. The project's artistic director offers here her fourth improvisation creation with a purpose, after 'Rouge', 'Pride' and 'Freaks', which have been touring successfully in France and Belgium for years. The project is co-organized with La Ligue des familles.
Seize the magic of improvisational theater to question our society: ask ourselves questions about parenthood, about "being a family", about the paths of our lives as LGBTQIA+ people.
Create stories - funny, dramatic, tender, sparkling - that challenge us. Share a powerful moment of exchange with the audience on these questions of family and parenthood, and draw inspiration from them to improvise a show, with sincerity, humor and emotion. Spend an evening of improvisational theater together, in the colors of the Rainbow. La Ligue des Familles and La compagnie qui pétille invite you to this unique evening!

As part of Brussels Pride, this exhibition explores the diversity of identities and questions dominant representations through photography, painting and digital art. Aleksandra Rowicka and Kristell in Wonderland propose an inclusive and committed approach, in which art becomes a space for dialogue and emancipation for LGBTQIA+ communities.
The Art of Becoming through Tales, Reveries and Mirrors is an immersive art exhibition exploring evolving identities through the works of Aleksandra Rowicka and Kristell in Wonderland. At the crossroads of photography, painting, and digital art, this exhibition invites visitors to reflect on self-construction, gender perception, and the personal narratives that shape our identities.
The exhibition will be open for several days, offering a free-flow experience through a scenographic space centered around the themes of metamorphosis and reflection.
Immersive visual installation: The exhibition features large-scale artworks and digital projections, creating a dreamlike and introspective atmosphere.
Meet the artists: Aleksandra Rowicka and Kristell in Wonderland will be present throughout the exhibition to engage with visitors and discuss their inspirations and artistic process.
Workshops and cultural mediation: Discussion and creative sessions on queer representation and gender fluidity can be organized in collaboration with LGBTQIA+ organizations. If any organizations are looking for a space to hold such activities, we would be delighted to host them."

Synopsis: Massie, Addi, Lylybeth and Joy are four non-binary artists at a turning point in their careers on Brussels' burgeoning drag scene. While this chosen family is close-knit and supportive, their blood family often has difficulty understanding their identity and their profession. Many truths and emotions remain unspoken.
Their shows, sometimes very funny, sometimes very dark, often both, are directly inspired by their daily struggles. The stage allows them to express their gender identities. It's also their livelihood and the place where they draw the energy to force their way into our society.
As their performances become increasingly notable, a quest for identity and artistic recognition takes shape. These artists aspire to something essential: the need to embrace who they are and, above all, to be accepted for who they are.

As part of Marc Martin’s exhibition “MAUVAISES VIES?”, which features an alcove dedicated to trans identity in combat sports, Mathis Chevalier (former MMA champion and actor) and Koko Barno (transgender boxer and model for Jean-Paul Gaultier) will debate at LaVallée to knock out prejudice and transphobia. While sport can be a powerful vehicle for equality, solidarity, and diversity, certain disciplines are known for excluding rather than uniting—and combat sports are often among them.
This debate on May 13 at LaVallée will be a key moment of the inclusive events accompanying Marc Martin’s “Mauvaises Vies?” exhibition.

An intense choreography of desires, disorientation and finality, with Berlin as a projection of freedom and transformation.
Alex Baczyński-Jenkins’ work has been described by writer Maxi Wallenhorst as 'casual sublime'—those mesmerising, unexpected moments of fascination and wonder that emerge from everyday life: the appearance of intimate gestures, affective connections, or expressions of collectivity. In Malign Junction (Goodbye, Berlin) (gesturing towards Christopher Isherwood’s 1939 depiction of the final days of Berlin nightlife and cabaret culture during the rise of fascism), Berlin functions as both a specific location and a plane of projection—a site embodying histories of transformation, countercultural life, freedom, and endings. Baczyński-Jenkins continues his distinctive choreographic exploration of landscapes of desire and disorientation, this time engaging with the concept of finitude. The choreography unfolds as a low-key ‘grande finale’, as if the performers are dancing at the edge of an ending. On stage, they intertwine with high intensity; their gestures continuously emerge and dissolve into formlessness. Following the enormous success of Untitled (Holding Horizon) at the festival, Baczyński-Jenkins returns with his signature practice of relationality, queer affection, and the embrace of new temporalities.

We'll be going from the Town Hall to the RainbowHouse, via the Manneken Pis.
We look forward to sharing this moment with you, in the footsteps of the first Brussels activists.

Queer Legacy: a flamboyant evening at Brussels City Hall!
On 15 May at 7pm and 9pm, Cabaret Mademoiselle presents a unique show blending drag, burlesque, and pole dance. A powerful, celebratory, and activist event that honours LGBTQIA+ pride and the richness of diverse identities — right in the heart of the city.
Cabaret Mademoiselle has become one of the iconic hotspots of Brussels’ nightlife. With a clever blend of humour, performance, and culture, it draws inspiration from the cabarets of yesteryear without ever lapsing into nostalgia. This free-spirited and joyfully subversive venue champions all forms of artistic expression.
On 15 May, at 7pm and 9pm, it takes over Brussels City Hall with Queer Legacy, an original production that combines drag, burlesque, and pole dance, brought to life by five flamboyant queer artists:
• La Veuve: a razor-sharp mistress of ceremonies and finalist of Drag Race Belgique Season 2.
• Alvilda: winner of the season, intense and electrifying.
• Chéri·e Chapstick: a fluidly identified artist, mixing humour and glitter.
• Olga Kalachnikova: an explosive pole dancer, as hilarious as she is virtuosic.
• Tina Strogofsky: a retro draglesque icon, blending sensuality and absurdity.
In this landmark site, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage location, Queer Legacy celebrates diverse identities, LGBTQIA+ struggles, and the pride of simply existing. A powerful statement, in harmony with Brussels Pride, already recognised at a regional level and now seeking UNESCO intangible cultural heritage status.

This collective work brings together people who reflect on the liberation of sexual and love practices from sociology, sexology, social work or a field perspective.

This collective work brings together people who reflect on the liberation of sexual and love practices from sociology, sexology, social work or a field perspective. It provides a rare opportunity for sexual dissidents to speak out together about bisexuality, pleasure, consent culture, sexting, sex work, gay cruising, pornography, polyamory, sexuality education, chemsex, BDSM and asexuality.
What is an arpentage?
An arpentage is a collective reading of a work of art. This technique, which originated in popular education, makes a book more accessible and enables a group to appropriate the work by developing a critical analysis together. You don't need to read the book in advance or buy it to come to a survey.
Free meeting including drinks and snacks.
First, we introduce ourselves and anchor our interest in experiencing this workshop.
Then we'll look at the book as an object, and the details of its cover, colors, texture, price, publishing house...
We then "break" the book, because we also want to desacralize the object, and we communicate the instructions to the public:
1. You must share with the others a rendition of the content you have read.
2. Remember a gift phrase, a burden phrase
3. Perhaps the content echoes our own experience, or that which we have witnessed? Record this and share it, if desired.
After dividing up the pages, we set off for an hour's "reading time".
Then, after making sure everyone is comfortable with the plenary feedback, we begin the restitution process, sharing gift phrases, burdens and echoes of experience. Time is set aside to give everyone a chance to express themselves.

A multitude of animal behaviours can be observed, ranging from relationships between individuals of the same sex to natural sex changes in certain species of fish, as well as a variety of family structures. Biodiversity reminds us that nature is not limited to the frameworks we know. To mark International Day for the Rights of LGBTQIA+ People, Michaël Loriaux, Deputy Mayor for Equal Opportunities, invites you to attend a screening of the film Queerying nature, by Aline Magrez, on Thursday 15 May 2025.
This documentary explores the diversity of behaviour in the animal world and questions the biases that can influence scientific research. Through an innovative look at the plurality of sexual and gender identities, this sensitive and poetic film invites us to broaden our perception of living things.
And to round off the screening in style, we invite you to discover a performance by artist Camille Pier, combining improvisation and spontaneity: an experience full of surprises awaits you!

Massie, Addi, Lylybeth and Joy are four non-binary artists at a turning point in their careers on Brussels' burgeoning drag scene.
While this chosen family is close-knit and supportive, their blood family often has trouble understanding their identity and their craft. Many truths and emotions remain unspoken.
Their shows, sometimes very funny, sometimes very dark, often both, are directly inspired by their daily struggles. The stage allows them to express their gender identities. It's also their livelihood and the place where they draw the energy to force their way into our society.
As their performances become increasingly notable, a quest for identity and artistic recognition takes shape. These artists aspire to something essential: the need to embrace who you are and, above all, to be accepted for who you are.

17 May is the International Day Against Homophobia, Lesbophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia! As part of Brussels Pride, La Villa Cultural Centre and the Ganshoren Prevention Department are joining forces to put on a hilarious Queer stand-up show!
It's a fact that stigma against gender minorities is still with us today. To show our support for the various communities concerned, we will be highlighting young, talented and charismatic Lgbtqia+ artists, where humour will be celebrated in all its splendour.
For one evening, La Villa will welcome extraordinary queer artists, ready to share their stories, experiences and unique points of view through funny and committed performances. The perfect opportunity to celebrate diversity and inclusivity, while having a great time with friends, family or on your own.

An apéro poésie with Nanténé Traoré, our associate poet this year, Vanille Bouyagui, Miel Pagès and Noah Truong. This choral reading introduces the cycle of Depuis longtemps dénoué-es il faudrait se recoudre, which looks at collective writing and, in negative terms, the place of solitude in contemporary writing practices.
The guest speakers embarked on a collaborative, eight-handed writing process, drawing on their exchanges, their techniques and their respective sensibilities.
At the meeting, the three authors (excluding Nanténé) will read aloud the texts that have emerged from this collective process.
The reading will be followed by an open discussion to look back together at the writing process, the formal choices made, the dynamics of working together, and the imaginary worlds shared.
It's an opportunity for anyone interested in writing in more than one voice, cross-fertilisation and the creation of a collective text.
A meeting/discussion in partnership with the Théâtre des Riches Claires.

Our annual Pride night is a tribute to queer joy and collective energy—a gathering where bodies speak, genres dissolve, and the dancefloor becomes a shared pulse.
Lolsnake aka Danielle Lumma Rahal is a Berlin based Iraqi-American DJ and the founder of the Queer party series Weeeirdos, which holds an ongoing residency at Säule Berlin. Leaning into several layers of dance music, from metallic techno, angelic trance and squishy acid to cosmic bleep, Lolsnake (she/they) fuses a maelstrom of textures into their sets, stirring up heady atmospheres and hypnotic moods on the dancefloor, forming a magnetic aesthetic of their own.
Stanislawa (she/her) always keeps an open-mind and an open-heart to push her values onto her music. Living between Brussels and Amsterdam, she is well known to provide the crowd with her top-tier selected 90’s trance, sexy techno grooves and progressive house bangers. She is the founder of the queer party collective Deep Down East. In May 2024, Stanislawa released her first EP, Forever Strong, featuring 4 very personal tracks merging hard-hitting 909 kicks with 90s trancy leads.

YoungWoman is an Egyptian Amsterdam-based transfemme DJ, producer, radio host and co-founder of Amsterdam’s first T4T Collective: Los Angles. This sonic explosive energy combined with a refreshing & irresistible playfulness behind the decks have dazzled audiences live at festivals like Rewire & Down The Rabbit Hole , clubs like De School & Garage Noord and her residencies at Oroko Radio , Echobox Radio & RadioRadioFm.
LOV aka Lifeonvenus is a Senegalese and French DJ, freshly blooming and making their way in the Belgian Queer parties and music scene.

Bota By Night, a fixture in our series of Les Nuits Botanique events, is bound to bring some serious fun on May 23rd. The event, taking place just after our soirée experimental with Jenny Hval, Alabaster DePlume, Merope and more, will feature some of the best international dj's performing boundary-pushing dj-sets.
In the Orangerie Toccororo and Rui Ho are set to turn up the energy with pop edits and Latinx bangers, while BLACKCLUB take us back to the roots (but also the future!) of electronic music with their thumping Chicago techno sound. Navigating between dancehall and Detroit, Tygapaw takes us on a deep dive into the queer black electronic scene — they will be joined in the Museum by the Egyptian-Palestinian producer and dj Oldyungmayn, whose sets feature techno, electro, trance and Middle Eastern influences.

Join us for the May edition of VR Film Screening, a monthly event dedicated to immersive storytelling. This series offers a fresh perspective on VR cinema and features a curated selection of VR films that range from live-action to animation.
Experience In the Mist, a dreamlike journey into the hidden world of male desire. Set in a dimly lit male sauna, this immersive VR film captures the tension of gazing and being gazed at, pulling you into a dreamlike state between reality and longing. Directed by Chou Tung-Yen, this poetic VR film depicts the unspoken emotions within queer spaces, where desire unfolds in silence.
Discover Her Name Was Gisberta, a deeply moving VR documentary directed by Sérgio Galvão Roxo that brings to life the story of Gisberta Salce, a Brazilian trans woman whose tragic death in 2006 became a symbol of the fight against transphobia. Using Virtual Reality Perspective-Taking Tasks, this experience immerses you in Gisberta’s world, making it a tool for education, activism, and social intervention.
