Brussels Pride - In the Capital of Europe is an event open to everyone. Photographs will be taken during the event and published for promotional purposes on Google Photos and other media (e.g. brochures, newsletters, social networks, newspapers, etc.).
visit.brussels is the data controller. More information on how visit.brussels manages privacy is available here: visit.brussels
Any photographs taken and published will be used for communication and promotional purposes regarding Brussels Pride - In the Capital of Europe.
The photographs will not be sold to third parties. As the owner of these photos, visit.brussels is also their guarantor.
They are stored on the visit.brussels infrastructure for a period of ten years.
The photographs are likely to be transferred to:
* Google Photos (US) - This product belongs to Google, which has its own privacy management rules: policies.google.com/privacy. visit.brussels uses this tool to make the photographs easily available. visit.brussels does not collect any direct or indirect personal information in this way.
* The different social networks managed by visit.brussels for promotional actions relating to the festival.
* Third parties (e.g. journalists) for promotional purposes only.
The case law and doctrine are broadly in agreement that when a person is seen in public, for example in a public place, they are giving their tacit consent. This consent is deduced from the concrete circumstances. Similarly, in principle no authorisation is required to take and use images of a crowd.
However, if you are the main subject of the photo, even if its main objective is to "show" the activities and atmosphere of the festival, you have the right to oppose:
* the taking of the photograph and/or
* its dissemination.
You can state your opposition directly to the photographer on the day of the event or subsequently by sending an email to dataprivacy@visit.brussels.
As a reminder, for children under the age of 14, parental consent is required for the taking and dissemination of photographs.
